Mark R. Schmidt, Esq.

As a Founding member, and Managing Partner of Schmidt, Kirifides & Rassias, Mark R. Schmidt has practiced in the field of Workers’ Compensation law exclusively for over two decades. He has argued several “Landmark Cases” before the Supreme and Commonwealth Courts of Pennsylvania, in support of the rights of Injured Workers. After being recognized by Law & Politics and Philadelphia Magazine as a “Rising Star” in 2005, he has been named to Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers for the past eleven years consecutively. In 2012, he earned the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award. Moreover, Attorney Schmidt is Certified as a Specialist in the practice of Workers’ Compensation Law as authorized by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

He is a frequent Lecturer on Workers’ Compensation issues for the Pennsylvania and Delaware County Bar Associations, Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Unions and other Institutions, and has appeared on Television on several occasions to speak about Workers’ Compensation issues.

Mark is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, as well as before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Delaware County Bar Association, including the association’s Workers’ Compensation Committee; the Pennsylvania Bar Association; the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association; and the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association.

An Upper Darby, Pa., native, Mark attended Upper Darby High School before earning a bachelors degree in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. Mark graduated from Temple University’s School of Law in 1990. At Temple, he was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and a moot court competition finalist.

Mark resides in West Chester, Pa., with his wife and their two children who were adopted from Russia. Having suffered a severe, work related low back injury himself in 2008, Mark is truly sympathetic to the pain each of his clients must go through, as well as the frustration they experience with the Workers’ Compensation “system.” He is uniquely qualified to show compassion and understanding to his client’s needs and concerns.
